VENICE

During a few days spent in Venice in September 2022 and February 2023 I carried out 4 series of shots taking the form of one big project aimed at interpreting and narrating the different faces of a unique city. 

SILENT VENICE

This series looks at the city of Venice from an unusual point of view compared to the images we are used to see, according to a rather reflective and intimate approach.

Venice itself, which teems with visitors throughout the day across the seasons and months of the year, reveals a lesser-known but fascinating face at nightfall; a perfect condition for wandering aimlessly to discover corners and silences capable of reconnecting us to our inner world, stimulating a vivid imagination and profound reflection.

TEEMING VENICE

Together with a "silent Venice" there is a very well-known populated Venice.

"Teeming Venice" is a second group of shots that focuses on the multitude of tourists and typical characters who populate the Serenissima every day, think for example about the gondoliers and, obviously, the pigeons crowding the city.

ROMANTIC VENICE

"Romantic Venice" is a third series, a collection of spontaneous shots aimed at capturing the magic and romanticism of the city corners, architectural details and street characters from tourists to gondoliers, the characteristic figures wearing a white and blue striped shirt carrying the gondola, the slender and elegant boat which is typical of the Venice lagoon

VENETIAN IMPRESSIONS

The "Venetian Impressions" series is a tribute to the unique atmosphere that reigns in the city and that I decided to capture at night using the ICM (Intentional camera movement) technique. The idea was to blur and enhance movement to convey that very sense of mystery and magic that permeate the soul of the Serenissima.
