A city wrapped in fog
This photographic project explores the iconic landmarks of Milan's Porta Nuova urban renewal, which began in the early 2000s and spanned over a decade, from a distinct perspective, fostered by an ethereal atmosphere.
In a city enveloped by fall mist, Piazza Gae Aulenti, Piazza Alvaro Alto and Bosco Verticale rise from the mist like mirages, which I repeatedly chose to capture from below to emphasize their grandeur and verticality.
The fog silently dissolves outlines and transforms the urban landscape into a dreamlike scenario, where lines and forms are freed from their concreteness to evoke a more intimate, inner, and almost metaphysical interpretation of space. Here, space is indeed understood not so much as a physical and specific location, but rather as a dimension of inner reflection.
